| History/Origin | Formerly known as Beswick, in 2024 the community name was changed at the request of the Bagala Traditional Owners. Wugularr is the Jawoyn language place name that refers to the Country where the community sits today. The previous name Beswick was adopted from the former pastoral lease known as Beswick Station, the station name being derived from the nearby stream Beswick Creek. |
