Kings Creek was named by William Patrick Auld on 20 April 1865, "in honor of our respected storekeeper, Stephen King, Esq." during the Escape Cliffs to Port Darwin investigation of the interior. (South Aust. Parl. Paper 15 of 1865-66 pg 15, p11) |
