History/Origin | The administrative area is based on and takes its name from the Aboriginal community Atitjere. Atitjere is located on an excision from Mount Riddock pastoral station and is adjacent to the small Town of Hart Range, which takes its name from the nearby mountain range. Harts Range was the site of a former mica field. The community itself is sometimes referred to as Harts Range. |
