History/Origin	Alpurrurulam as an administrative area is based on and takes its name from the Aboriginal community of the same name. The Commiunity was formerly known as Lake Nash, on which pastoral station it was located before land for the Community was excised from the station. The community boundary, as approved on 8 March 2007, is deliniated on Compiled Plan 5120.
