Connellan Airport is named in commemoration of Edward John (EJ) Connellan, Pioneer Aviator, Pastoralist and Politician. Connellan started the pastoral property 'Narwietooma' north west of Alice Springs in 1938 and founded 'Connellan Airlines' in 1939, filling a niche for mail services to remote areas and medical evacuations. |
