History/Origin |
Named after Alexander "Paddy" Ringwood, labourer, then draftsman and clerk of Surveyor-General Goyder's original Palmerston (now Darwin) survey in 1869 (at 180 pounds per annum). He made a report of his testing of quartz rock to Goyder and the SA Government. His later plan of the Overland Telegraph (OT) Line in 1874 contained early OT Line nomenclature. |
