| History/Origin |
Named after a variety of plant species found in the Greater Darwin area. Calophyllum inophyllum is a large, glossy leaved evergreen tree bearing creamy-white fragrant flowers. The timber was previously used in shipbuilding and tamanu oil is pressed from the nuts. |
