History/Origin |
Named after the SS Changsha (2269 tons) of the Australian Oriental Line Ltd on the Melbourne-Darwin-Hong Kong run from 1912 to 1926. The first official Northern Territory Contingent of the Australian Expeditionary Force for WWI sailed from Darwin on the SS Changsha on the 26 April 1915. |
