Named after Edward "Ned" Tuckwell, mechanic, who served with McKinlay in 1866 at Escape Cliffs on the East Alligator River and who returned to serve with Surveyor-General Goyder in 1869. He may have been associated with the Southport survey with Surveyor W Harvey in May 1869. |
