Named after Helen Wilhelmina Carruth (nee Sinclair) (1877-1940), an early NT Teacher known for her kindness, generosity and social conscience who brought education and a ray of hope to the less fortunate children in the early 1900s; Mrs Carruth remains the longest serving Teacher in the Northern Territory having taught from 1903 until about 1940. |
