History/Origin Named after the Darwin Cycad (Cycas armstrongii), a medium-sized cycad up to 6 metres tall with a slender trunk 6-12 centimetres in diameter. Endemic to the Top End of the Northern Territory, this species occurs in open grassy woodland and is found in the locality.
