History/Origin Bundilla Beach recognises the continuing significance of this site to the Larrakia Aboriginal people. 'Bundilla' is a Larrakia language word meaning 'girl' or 'young woman'. The beach has also been unofficially known by the name 'Vesteys' in acknowledgement of the ambitious Vestey's Meatworks facility, formerly situated upon Bullocky Point overlooking the beach.
