History/Origin |
Named after Lily Tuey Ching, who was married to Chin Loong Pak (one of three sons of Chin Mielang). Lily had six children, all born in Darwin. Ernie was born in Sydney during World War II. The family returned to Darwin in 1947 to take up the old shop C.C. Pak, opposite the Don Hotel in Bennett Street/Cavenagh Street, famous for its shaved ice and general tailoring. All the descendants of the Chin Mielang Family still reside in Darwin. |
