History/Origin |
Named after John Fredrick 'Bronc' Bradshaw (1947-1991). John Bradshaw was born in Chatswood NSW in 1947. His work ethic and personal values were exemplary and these values were imparted on to many in the Territory construction today. Fondly known as "Bronc", he worked in the civil construction industry in Katherine and surrounding areas as a multi skilled machine operator and professional road train operator. He worked on various projects including Tindal RAAF Base, Victoria Highway dual lane upgrade, NT beef roads and community accesses. Although he was born and raised in the city, he felt out of place. He loved the remoteness and the space of the Territory and always felt right at home here. John was tragically taken on 6 July 1991 when his car left the Big Horse Creek Bridge at Timber Creek. |
