History/Origin |
Named after Thomas Vincent Hanrahan who worked on the construction of the railway line which was to link Port Augusta to Stuart (now Alice Springs). Thomas worked with the Department of Works as a road construction supervisor for some 20 years. Thomas was active in sport and was a life member and trainer at the Rovers football club and was a foundation member of the Alice Springs Memorial Club. He also built three homes and together with his family built a forth on the East side of Alice Springs. |
