History/Origin |
Named after Percy Lake, who had a freight run from Alice Springs to Adelaide carting stores and fuel to stations and towns south of Alice Springs. He also carted freight and fuel north to Darwin and across to Mt Isa and was a part of the Independent Freight Services with Ted Styles in the late 1950's and 1960's. Percy Lake owned a Mercedes single drive semi-trailer in the late 1940's and 1950's. He retired in the late sixties. |
