| History/Origin |
Spiros Spirou (1902 - 1972) was born in Cyprus, Greece. He married his wife in 1922 and in 1924 the couple relocated to Darwin, Australia. Mr Spirou worked in the Darwin building industry as a labourer. He returned to Cyprus in 1970 and died from a stroke two years later. The Spirou family continues to live and work in Darwin, with the family contributing to several community events, including the Greek Glenti and Cypriot Wine Festival. |
