| History/Origin | This Hundred is situated in the County of Disraeli on the eastern side of the Adelaide River and was gazetted with the Hundred of Beaconsfield - SA Govt Gazette of 7 /8/1884. It is believed to have been named after William Henry Bundey (1838-1909) who in 1871 was first elected to the South Australian House of Assembly and from July 1874 to May 1875 served in Blyth's government as the first Minister for Justice and Education. He held the office of Attorney-General from 1878 to 1881 in Morgan's Ministry. In 1884, Bundey was appointed as the third judge of the Supreme Court of South Australia. The Hundred lapsed with the passage in 1976 and subsequent assent of the Crown Lands Ordinace 1976 (No 1 of 1977) and the Crown Lands (Validation of Proclamations) Ordinance 1976 (No.2 of 1977). |
