Description

Abstract:

Polygon data delineating modelled statistical flood extent with an Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP) of 100 years. Also known as the 1 in 100 year flood layer, it used for municipality planning and risk assessment. This data contains a group of layers depicting a range of statistical AEP extents from all flood studies in the Northern Territory. The data is statically derived using hydrological models, historic flood extents and heights.

Data Quality

Lineage:Primary

Positional Accuracy:Data captured at scale ranging from 1:5,000 to 1:25,000 at precision 0.5 metre.
Topographic map horizontal accuracy is within 0.5mm at source map scale of 1:2500. Vertical accuracy is 90% of elevation are correct to within half a contour interval as source map scale of 1:2500 on the 1:2500 scale map the horizontal accuracy is 1.25 metres

Attribute Accuracy:Attributes are verified and should be accurate. Overall reliability of the source material is indicated in Reliability field, where HIGH is good and LOW is poor quality source information. This data is suitable to use at township and parcel level. Reliability field provides clues to the accuracy, where a value of 1 is best and 3 is worst.

Logical Consistency:Attributes are consistent with other related layers, e.g. flood height contours

Completeness:Complete
